Shalom Y'all!
How is everyone today! I received my Career Israel September Session Packet! The dates I will be going are from September 1st until January 25th. The first few weeks are dedicated to getting to know each other and to learn Hebrew. In October, I will start my internship. I hope to know more at the Orientation the first day.

Update #1
Hello All!
I received an email from my internship coordinator stating that she sent my resume to my first choice and that they already replied. They are impressed by my resume and I'm just waiting to hear from them to set up an interview time! :)

My Top Ten Travel Tips!
I've flown internationally twice now, plus a few trips to NY and a trip to California. Not to mention all the driving trips I've taken. So here are my top ten travel tips:
- Roll, don't fold your clothes. You'll have more room in your suitcase.
- If you are going on a trip for one or two weeks, pick out outfits and place them in ziploc bags and name each bag by day you will wear it or write what is in each bag. You can place your dirty laundry in the bags. No more not knowing what is clean and dirty or finding a way to separate them.
- If going international, place travel papers (like copies of passport and embassy information) and some currency in different locations. Keep a copy of your travel papers in each bag you have with you.
- Keep all valuables with you. Some examples include, jewelry, makeup, medicines, etc.
- Put an extra outfit in your carry on bag. If you spill on your shirt or pants, you can go to the bathroom and change instead of sitting in wet clothes.
- Always tell someone you trust where you are going. If you are going internationally, tell the embassy in the country you will be going to that you will be in that country. For example, if I were to be going to Italy, I would tell the U.S. Embassy in Italy that I will be there.
- Speaking of embassies, ALWAYS know where the local embassy is. If you lose your passport, you can go to them and they will help you. If anything at all happens, they will be able to help.
- Learn the customs of the place you are going to. You don't want to offend anyone.
- Dress appropriately. If you know that where you are going, you have to be covered head to toe, than do so. Also, if it is suppose to be -5 degrees Fahrenheit out, don't wear a tank top and short shorts. You will freeze to death. Same with if it is 100 degrees Fahrenheit, don't wear heavy black long sleeves and pants.
- Be aware of your surroundings. And don't be afraid to ask for directions if you are lost.

Packing Post #1
Hello
Everyone!
I've been to Israel twice before. Both times it was in the summer. This time I will have to pack for both summer and winter. In Florida, we barely get a winter. So packing this time it is a tad bit hard. As I am making a packing list, I realize that finding a heavy winter coat in the middle of summer in Florida will be tough. I found out that the “coat factory” part of Burlington Coat Factory is a lie. There were no coats. But I did find some cute work blouses there! Other than the coat and some small items, I have everything I need. If you ever need some cute and cheap blouses, Ross is the place to go!
Last time I went to Israel, I forgot to pack water shoes. I cut my toe open on salt that was on the bottom of the Dead Sea. It really hurt. Not this time! I now have a cute pair of water shoes. Maybe this time I won’t get hurt…who am I kidding???? I get hurt on a daily basis! But, my goal is to try and not get hurt or sick this time, unlike the last two times.
Ok…back to packing! Last year, I had a pair of sandals (my favorite pair might I add) break and my favorite flip flops. So this time, I am packing multiple pairs; just in case.
I also have figured out that instead of packing big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, that I can just buy it over there. Even though the shampoo and conditioner may not be for my hair type, it puts less weight in my bags as well as less room.
In conclusion, you never know what you will need. Maybe I will find more things I need in the next two months.
In my next post, I will write about my top ten travel tips! So look out for it!
P.S. Have you seen the first video on my YouTube Channel? Outtakes will be posted soon!

A Little More Info
Here is some information about my internship, the program I am going through, and about how I will be writing this blog.
First off, I am going through a company called Career Israel. Career Israel helps those who have recently graduated from college, find the perfect internship in Israel, based on interests and their degrees. I am currently working with an internship coordinator to pick out the perfect internship for me.
Secondly, at the moment, I have picked my top three choices where I prefer to Intern at. The internship coordinator is working with the companies to see if they need an intern and to set up an interview for me with one. As the time gets closer and I have been interviewed by the company, I will post another blog.
Thirdly, I am deciding to not post publicly where I will be interning. This way I won't break confidentiality with the internship. The blog will be broad about what I do. However, I will briefly describe one or two lessons that I have learned that week. The blog will be uploaded once a week, most likely on Saturdays. I may also do a vlog (video blog) that will be uploaded two-three times a week to YouTube. The vlog will show any activities that I do with Career Israel and will show what it is like for an American to be living in Israel for 5 months. I will post the link once I have created the account. In addition to the blog posts, I will be posting pictures onto the blog.
I hope y'all have a splendid day!!
Stay tuned for more updates on my adventure!
xoxo

The Company I Am Using
I have this amazing opportunity to intern in Israel this September, in my field of counter-terrorism. I am raising funds to get there by participating in JNF's "Plant Your Way" program, which helps Israel at the same time as I raise funds for my trip. Please check out the link below for more information!
THANK-YOU!!Please Help Support Israel and Me!
